AMEB exam students: please complete Google Form registration by FRI JUN 6
The teacher is not obligated to make up time lost if a student is LATE to their lesson – irrespective of the reason.
It is the student’s responsibility to come to their lessons with all required materials.
If a student comes to their lesson without the necessary materials, then the teacher may not be able to provide additional materials (eg extra copies).
Therefore, other work may be given during that lesson (such as theory/aural work).
Please note carefully the information below regarding ABSENCES.
My singing teaching work is my livelihood, not my hobby.
Cancellations (for whatever reason) can impact my ability to earn in other ways; therefore, these conditions will be strictly adhered to.
If the teacher needs to re-schedule or cancel your lesson (due to illness, family or professional commitments), a "re-scheduled lesson" will be offered according to the teacher's availability, or the lesson will not be charged for (credit applied for the following term/lesson).
"Advised" absences are those where notice is provided that a student will not be able to attend a scheduled lesson due to:
school, family or other extra-curricular commitment = a minimum of 7-days notice
illness = a minimum of 24-hours notice
Lessons missed with the appropriate “advised absence” notice period provided will be re-scheduled within that term. (See "Rescheduled Lessons")
In any given term, a maximum of 2 rescheduled lessons will be offered for "advised" absences.
“Short notice” absences are those where a student is unable to attend a scheduled lesson due to unexpected illness or other valid, unexpected reason (eg. accident) - and less than 24-hours notice is provided.
For "short notice" absences, a cancellation fee (50% of the lesson duration scheduled) will be charged. This pays for the teacher’s time, which could have otherwise been offered to another student if sufficient notice had been provided.
Where possible and desired, the teacher will endeavour to re-schedule lessons missed on “short notice”.
Lessons missed without notice are forfeited (ie. full lesson charge) and not rescheduled.
Commitment to private lessons "by the term" is for a full term of 8 lessons.
If a student needs to take leave from their scheduled lesson time during a term of more than 2 weeks (eg. for a holiday), resulting in their time slot being vacated for that period, all lessons will be charged for as normal. This will reserve their preferred weekly time slot.
Students will be offered a maximum of 2 "rescheduled lessons" per term (for those absences advised with sufficient notice).
Except in special circumstances, these "rescheduled" lessons must be taken at the times offered by the teacher within a given term (and not be carried over into a new term).
"Rescheduled" lessons will be offered by the teacher:
in vacant time slots that become available on Monday, Thursdays or Fridays during any given week
on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon/evenings (when teacher is available)
on Saturdays (when teacher is available)
Cancelling a lesson term-booking leaves me with a vacancy I may not be able to fill quickly.
Therefore, a minimum of FOUR LESSONS notice must be given for termination of lessons – or payment in lieu.
Accounts are sent via email (from "XERO") at the START of each new term.
Fees are due BEFORE the first lesson of a term booking, or the due date of a casual lesson.
Payment is made via direct deposit to “Dekko Media Pty. Ltd” (see account details on the invoice).
10% GST is applicable to all lesson fees.
Additional fees are associated with:
Accompanist fees (for concert, Eisteddfod and examination performances)
Eisteddfod entry and accompanist fees
Examination entry and accompanist fees
(Students/parents will be advised accordingly if/when such fees are required.)
