About... Sarah Webster

As a young person, Sarah trained in Speech & Drama (AMEB & Trinity Guildhall), classical ballet (RAD) and singing (AMEB, ABRSM & Trinity Guildhall). She performed widely in both professional and non-professional musical theatre, opera, cabaret and children’s theatre. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (USYD); a Graduate Diploma in Education (UNE); an Associate Diploma in Speech & Drama (AMEB); a Licentiate Diploma in Singing (Trinity Guildhall, UK); and an Advanced Certificate in Singing (Associated Board of the Royal Schools Of Music, UK).

After spending some years both performing and working in various production team roles throughout Australia and South East Asia for the Walt Disney Company (Special Events Group), Sarah decided what she really enjoyed the most was bringing out the potential of other young performers, and so turned her focus to teaching and directing.

A currently accredited K-12 classroom teacher, Sarah has been preparing students for the performance components of (NSW) HSC Music 1, 2 and 2 Extension courses for more than 20 years, with a consistent track record of Band 5 and 6 results for ALL students, including a number of nominations for "Encore".

Sarah’s private voice students have also enjoyed considerable success in vocal Eisteddfods & examinations (AMEB, Trinity Guildhall, ABRSM, ANZCA, RockSchool, etc), community & professional musical theatre productions, and tertiary entry auditions to a wide range of music, vocal and musical theatre courses including the Sydney and Queensland Conservatoriums of Music, NIDA, WAAPA, JMC Academy, AIM and ED5. Sarah enjoys a continued relationship with many of her ex-students, many of whom are now working professionally both in Australia and overseas.

Sarah has produced/directed/music-directed numerous large-scale concerts and theatrical productions for schools and/or youth theatre companies in recent years, including Charlie & The Chocolate Factory The Musical, Frozen Jr, Alice In Wonderland Jr, Seussical Jr, The Wizard Of Oz (Youth) and Joseph & His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In 2022, she also designed and delivered the NSW Government's Certificate III in Community, Dance, Theatre & Events (with a focus on Musical Theatre) for Stage 6 students in Sydney Catholic Schools. 

Sarah has a passion for choral music and as such, has developed and directed choral and vocal ensembles of all ages, sizes and voice combinations in many school, church and community settings. 

Sarah is delighted to be offer to bring her wealth of  vocal teaching experience to singers of all ages either through her home studio in Killarney Heights, or to those students attending the schools where she is currently contracted as a voice tutor. She is an accredited member of the Music Teachers Association of NSW (MTANSW), and a current member of the Australian National Association of Singing Teachers (ANATS) and the Australian National Choral Association (ANCA).
